University in Shanghai
This week I'm on the campus of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University! It's a university in Shanghai with 12,000 students, near the last stop of metro line 12.
It looks like a really nice campus and university. Everything is very well maintained and very clean. I didn't take photos of the whole campus, but it really is a big one.
We're staying in a really nice room here, it's just like a 4-star hotel. Of course that's not how the ordinary student lives here. You can see a bit of 'westerner favouritism' here. In China they have a concept of face and you can see that very clearly here.
Here are a few photos of the room:
Spread over the campus are small blocks of flats where the students live. There are also 2 cafeterias, one for the students and one in the building where my room is. That one is mostly used only by guest speakers and professors. In the student cafeteria it's 1.5 euros a meal, and in the 'posh' cafeteria it's a little under 5 euros a meal, but then you get a buffet with lots of tasty dishes and desserts, and it's all-you-can-eat.
In the mornings we have classes on Chinese culture. The first day we had a class on Globalisation & FDI, the second day Chinese food culture and today we had Chinese business culture. It's all very interesting. Tomorrow we finish with Chinese business environment and then we go back to our apartment.

It's definitely been a really good experience: you see how everything works at a Chinese university. Of course they only showed us the best, but we also went exploring on campus ourselves. Oh yes! This is my student card!

And we mustn't forget the social side of student life! So we went looking for a bar nearby, and we found a good one!

Beijing
A while ago I mentioned that we were going on a trip to Beijing, but in the end that didn't happen because we were too late to arrange everything. Now we've bought the train tickets and booked a hostel, so we're ready to go. We're going from Friday morning to Sunday afternoon. Not a very long time, but we'll see the most important things.
We're planning to visit the Great Wall, the Forbidden City with Tiananmen Square, the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven . Hopefully it'll all work out!
I'll try to take some nice photos!!
Until next time!
